The Vice-Bishops Ceili Band is a flexible five or six piece band , that plays dance music, mainly from the English folk tradition, and is the ideal band for your wedding, party or ‘barn dance’, coming complete with caller. Multi-instrumentalists Dave and Fred, started playing music for country dancing back in the 70s as part of OAKAPPLE country dance band, which played all over the Midlands, including a certain evening at the NEC Fire Station, where during a dance, a bell interrupted the proceedings and all the menfolk disappeared down a pole, leaving the ladies to their own devices!

Please note : our repertoire can also include American square dances, various European dances, Rock’n’roll, Rhythm & Blues and Zydeco, if so desired, as band members also operate as the Zydeco Hot Rods
