Zydeco Brothers Band Logo

Five years ago they where asked at short notice to provide some live music for a Ben Appleby on Saxaphoneparty night at the established “ Dove Valley Blues Club “ and after a few hastily made phone calls, they recruited three other seasoned musicians, with whom they have collaborated, on previous occasions.

Guitarists Clint and Pete OakleyVocalist Colin Latham and Bass player Mark Fontana ( both ex ’80 in the shade’ ) were drafted in, alongside Lead Guitarist Clinton Peak ( ex ‘Lip Service’ and ‘The Philharmonic Blues Band’ to complete the outfit, and without so much as a rehearsal ( there wasn’t time ! ) they launched into a selection of classic Pop, Rock’n’Roll and Rhythm & Blues hits from the 50’s 60’s 70’s and 80’s, all the stuff you can sing along to, or dance the night away to, and such was the success of the evening, that the Bassist Mark Fontanaband was immediately re-booked for the Christmas Party !

Since that first Christmas party night, , the band has gone from strength to strength, especially with the addition of saxophonist Ben Appleby and guitarist Pete Oakley , who have both given the band a really big sound, making it the Ideal party band, with it’s mixture of Classic Pop, Soul and Rhythm & Blues, served up with a hot spicy sprinkling of Louisiana’s own dance music, Zydeco !

The hit sounds of Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Spencer Davis, Eric Clapton , Bo Diddley, Alex Harvey, Dire Straits, The Stones, Sam Cooke, Bill Withers and The Blues Brothers, rub shoulders with the sounds of the Southern States ………..Rockin’ Sidney, Fats Domino, Denise Lesalle, Jimmy Reed, Lee Dorsey and the King of Zydeco himself , Clifton Chenier.
